Job description
We are currently partnering a university, based in Birmingham, in regards to a permanent Information Governance Officer vacancy.
The post offers hybrid working, and a salary in the region of £32,000 - £35,000 with competitive benefits.
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
Promoting a culture of understanding and awareness of compliance regulations and good practice in information management, governance and security
Collaborating with Data Protection Task Group Members/Champions, to ensure the university meets its obligations under data protection and information legislation and regulations
Updating policies, procedures and guidelines to support information governance and data protection, to ensure compliance requirements are met and best practice standards are maintained
Implementing systems to deliver and monitor compliance, and reporting audit finding to the relevant Committee
Acting as the main contact for the ICO on issues relating to processing of Freedom of Information, personal data and e-privacy
Assisting the University in establishing frameworks to evidence data protection compliance, such as IS27001 and Cyber Essentials
Leading on training and awareness to improve the information governance and risk culture
Experience required:
Project Management
Developing services to provide Data Protection, FOI and EIR support
Skills, knowledge and expertise required:
Data Protection qualification or relevant experience
Working hours:
37 hours per week
Monday – Friday
