Job description

Our client, based in Greater Manchester, is currently recruiting for an Income Officer on a permanent basis.

The position is due to start at the end of November with a salary of £28,000. The daily hours are 9-5, Monday-Friday with a 45-minute break for lunch.

The ideal candidate will be able to provide a joined-up customer focused income service to tenants, whilst supporting tenant sustainment. They will also be required to maximise income collection, ensuring performance indicators and service standards are met and maintained.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Providing excellent customer focus and service to tenants across patch

  • Being able to translate customer needs into service delivery and gathering, interpreting and relaying information from them.

  • Negotiating and advising skills to assist tenants to seek resolutions to their financial difficulties.

  • Being performance focussed and complying with company targets and deadlines.

  • Having Microsoft Office skills, with the ability to produce documents to a professional and accurate standard.

  • Being able to make effective decisions and dealing with challenging situations effectively.

  • Having Working knowledge of housing and welfare benefits, legal proceedings relating to arrears recovery and all relevant housing legislation.

Experience required:

  • Experience required in Social Housing

  • Experience working with customers within housing

Rewards and Benefits:

Working hours:

  • 36.25 hours per week

  • Monday – Friday, 9am-5pm
