Job description

We are currently partnering with a leading environmental charity based in North London, who are recruiting for a Human Resources Officer to join their growing team on a temporary basis.

This is a full-time position with a negotiable hourly rate (depending on experience) and the start date is the end of November.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Providing first-line support to staff and managers giving guidance and information on HR policies & procedures, terms and conditions and staff benefits
  • Advising on and administering all staff benefits, including pension, cycle to work scheme and staff loans
  • Carrying out HR inductions with new starters and producing contracts and standard letters for staff as requested
  • Providing line managers with probationary guidelines for new staff and monitoring the probationary process
  • Monitoring end/review dates for temporary appointments, act-ups and secondments, and carrying out leaver processes, including exit interviews
  • Managing monthly HR processes and providing administrative support for annual HR calendar events
  • Updating the payroll changes spreadsheet and HR database with any adjustments to staff terms and conditions as necessary
  • Managing the HR mailbox and HR database, directly answering queries or referring to the relevant team
  • Supporting the HR information needs of the team and wider organisation by producing regular and ad hoc reports, drawing on data from a variety of sources
  • Meeting reporting requirements by coordinating data collection across HR systems to produce dashboards and meet international/external reporting needs

Experience required:

  • Substantial experience of HR administration and support across the employee lifecycle
  • HR database administration experience, including data management, user support, and reporting
  • Customer service experience

Skills, knowledge and expertise required:

  • The ability to manage and develop effective administration systems and processes
  • CIPD qualified or equivalent or working towards (desirable)

Working hours:

  • 37.5 hours per week
  • Monday – Friday, 9am-5:30pm
