Job description

We are currently working in partnership with an organisation who are looking to appoint a HR officer on a 3-month temporary basis with the potential for it to go permanent. Our client is a large, well respected public sector organisation that provides assistance to service users across the Worcestershire area.

This will be a full-time position based in Worcester, with hybrid working (1 day a week home working) and a salary of £26,421- £28,770.

The ideal candidate will have a CIPD L3 qualification, and have experience in advising managers on HR Policies and procedures.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Providing HR Guidance and support to managers in relation to HR policies and procedures

  • Advising and supporting managers in the monitoring and management of attendance e.g. redeployment, access to work, ill health, disciplinary and attendance management processes

  • Producing and discussing sickness absence monitoring reports with managers

  • Assisting in responding to all HR related queries via email, face to face or written in an accurate and timely way, referring to the HR Operations Manager

  • Acting as a central point of contact for managers and Occupational Health, including screening referrals and provide recommendations for implementation and attending case conferences as required

Skills, knowledge and expertise required:

  • Experience of advising managers on HR policies such as, maternity, paternity, special leave, performance management, absence management, disciplinaries, grievances

  • Evidence of developing good relationships with managers and offering proactive solutions, spelling out options, risks and considerations

  • Good administrative and organisational skills and an ability to prioritise and manage a varied workload with conflicting priorities and tight deadlines

Working hours:

  • 37.5 hours per week

  • Monday – Friday, 9am-5pm
