HR Manager

Our client, based in Leicestershire, is currently recruiting for a HR Manager on a fixed-term contract for 12 months.

The position is due to start ASAP on a full-time basis (37.5 hours per week) paying a salary of c£38,000-c£42,000pa on experience.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two years’ experience in the sector, however this requirement can be flexible.

Duties will include (but not limited to):

  • Lead expert in HR providing specialist advice, guidance and recommendations to support the business’ senior leadership and corporate management teams
  • Manage the People Team to ensure the delivery of pro-active HR support to staff at all levels; cross-working with other teams on health and safety; well-being initiatives; equality and diversity and customer service excellence
  • Decision making autonomy in the day-to-day delivery of a HR service with referral to the SLT only in circumstances that require higher approval
  • Collaborate with managers on recruitment processes to attract high quality staff which embed HR into everyday practice across the business
  • Oversee the training and development of staff to retain talent, embed a culture of excellence and continual improvement to enhance career opportunities and secure succession planning for the future
  • Devise work initiatives and systems for embedding HR into every day practice across the business to improve performance and achievements of objectives
  • Responsible for setting and managing the delivery of KPI’s for the People Team which deliver the business’ objectives
  • Responsibility for the departmental annual budget setting and in year monitoring

Skills, knowledge and expertise required:

  • Currently holds or is working towards a CIPD qualification
  • Minimum of two years HR experience ideally within a local government environment

Rewards and Benefits:

  • 24 days annual leave

Working hours:

  • 37.5 hours per week, 2/3 days p.w. home working
  • Flexible hours available throughout the week from 7am-6pm
