HR Manager

Our client, an educational body based in Essex, is currently recruiting for a HR Manager on a temporary contract for nine months.

The position is due to start immediately on a full time basis. The salary on offer, will be between £40,322 – £49,553 and this will offer flexible working (2-3 days working from home – depending on work commitments).

The ideal candidate will have a sound working knowledge of current UK and EU employment law and a good working knowledge of good practice in people management.

Duties will include (but not limited to):

  • Provide accurate guidance to staff and managers on a range of HR policies and procedures and regularly communicate updates and news to all staff in relation to the programme implementation
  • Advice and input on performance management, recruitment, appeals, grievances in agreed Departments undergoing change management support
  • Handle the entirety of the employee relations remit acting as the first point of contact for ER cases
  • Coach Managers and Academic staff on matters of employment law, good practice management and employee relations, and be accountable for the quality of that advice and recommended practice
  • Work with the HR teams to ensure the HR systems, staff personal files and organograms are updated to reflect the changes
  • Collaborate with the Director/Head of Department to manage the recruitment and selection process to move from the current to new organisational structure. This will include supporting the development of job purposes as required and ensuring the recruitment and selection process meet standards

 

Experience required:

  • Ideally higher education experience
  • MCIPD (preferable)

Skills, knowledge and expertise required:

  • Current UK and EU employment law
  • People management

Working hours:

  • 5 hours per week
  • Monday – Friday 08:30am-5pm
