Job description

We are delighted to be representing one of the largest private education companies in the UK, who are looking to appoint a HR Assistant on a permanent basis.

Our client takes care of 16 schools nationwide and their primary aim is to give every child in their care the best possible start in life.

This is a full-time position and is based in Berkshire with a salary of £25,000 - £30,000 per annum and the start date is subject to notice.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Acting as the key point of contact for HR queries providing guidance on HR policies, processes and operating procedures to employees and managers

  • Supporting the full recruitment life cycle for appointing academic and non-academic staff which will include; advertising vacancies, maintaining the school website, track applications, prepare shortlisting packs and liaise with candidates and hiring managers for interviews

  • Assisting the HR Advisor with the onboarding process for successful candidates ensuring all pre-employment checks have been carried out including, eligibility to work, DBS and health checks, ensuring supporting documentation has been checked, and systems and files have been updated accordingly

  • Creating and maintaining employee records, physically and in relevant databases (iSAMS and SuccessFactors)

  • Under the guidance of the HR Advisor, ensure that the Single Central Record is kept up to date and is compliant with Keeping Children Safe in Education guidance

  • Ensuring the completion of leaver paperwork, arrange exit interviews and archive files as necessary

  • Keeping up to date with changes in employment law and best practice and inform as necessary

Skills, knowledge and expertise required:

  • Good knowledge of HR policies, processes and safeguarding

  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal

  • Strong organisational and administrative skills, ability to plan, prioritise and manage a varied workload

Working hours:

  • 35 hours per week

  • Monday – Friday, 9am-5pm
