Job description

We are delighted to be representing one of the largest private education companies in the UK, who are looking to appoint a HR Advisor on a 12-month fixed-term contract.

The role is full time and based in North London with a salary of £35,000 - £40,000 per annum.

The client is looking for someone with strong generalist experience across all remits of HR, especially employee relations, and ideally someone with a CIPD L5 qualification (or working towards it).

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Acting as a key point of contact for HR queries providing guidance on HR policy, process and operating procedures to employees and manager

  • Managing a variety of ER casework including disciplinaries, grievances, investigations, sickness absence management and capabilities, coaching and training managers on ER procedures and employment law

  • Monitoring and recording all staff absence, flagging up any potential absence issues and following up with managers and individuals

  • Leading on recruitment campaigns for all roles, posting adverts online, monitoring applications, responding to queries, organising interviews, issuing offer letters and completing pre-employment checks

  • Maintaining and updating the single central record and HR system with details of all employees, as well as supporting the roll out of the new HR system

  • Compiling monthly reports for payroll including any staff changes, absence report together with details of any temporary payments

Experience required:

  • Experience working in a HR generalist capacity

  • Experience working within education

Skills, knowledge and expertise required:

  • Knowledge of safeguarding and Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE)

  • Managing employee relations casework

  • Knowledge of employment law

Working hours:

  • 35 hours per week

  • Monday - Friday 9am-5pm
