Job description

We are currently partnering with a Public Sector organisation in Herefordshire, who are recruiting for a 3 HR Advisors to join their growing team on a permanent basis.

 

There are full‑time and part‑time opportunities available, offering salaries between £30,000 and £40,000 per annum (depending on experience). The role is hybrid, with a mix of home working and some site travel.

 

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

 

  • Managing complex HR casework including disciplinary, grievance, capability, absence, redundancy and TUPE

  • Providing calm, confident advice to headteachers, governors and senior leaders in high‑pressure situations, often on site

  • Acting as Investigating Officer when required, producing clear, evidence‑based reports and recommendations

  • Advising on education‑specific terms and conditions, policies and statutory frameworks

  • Supporting organisational change, restructures and consultation processes, including trade union engagement

  • Leading the development, review and implementation of HR policies and procedures across schools

  • Designing and delivering HR training sessions for school leaders and wider client groups

  • Building strong, credible relationships that support excellent service delivery and future partnership opportunities

 

Experience required:

 

  • Experienced HR professional who is confident operating at pace, under pressure and within complex organisational environments

  • Significant experience managing complex HR casework end‑to‑end, including disciplinary, grievance, capability, absence, redundancy and TUPE

  • Strong working knowledge of employment law and the ability to apply it confidently in real‑world situations

  • Experience working within unionised environments and supporting consultation processes

  • The ability to remain calm, professional and decisive when handling challenging or sensitive issues

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, high‑quality documentation
