Housing Officer
Job description
Our client, based in Staffordshire, is currently recruiting for a Housing Officer on a 3-month temporary contract.
The position is due to start immediately on a temporary basis. The hourly rate is negotiable based on experience for this position.
The ideal candidate will hold a basic DBS taken out within the last three years, have access to their own vehicle, and hold a full UK Driving Licence.
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
Managing tenancy and anti-social behaviour (ASB) cases, assessing risk and taking appropriate action
Maintaining accurate tenant records by uploading and updating housing documents and correspondence
Enforcing tenancy agreements and address breaches through appropriate tenancy management processes
Handling tenancy-related cases, including successions, mutual exchanges, assignments, and starter tenancy visits
Working collaboratively with income, repairs, and tenancy sustainment teams to resolve tenancy issues
Preparing legal documentation for tenancy-related proceedings and provide responsive estate management services
Experience required:
Previous experience working as a Housing Officer or in a social housing tenancy management role
Experience managing ASB and tenancy management cases
Experience handling tenancy enforcement and legal documentation
Experience working with vulnerable tenants and assessing support needs
Experience working collaboratively with internal teams and external agencies
Skills, knowledge and expertise required:
Strong knowledge of tenancy management practices and tenancy agreements
Understanding of ASB case management and risk assessment
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for engaging with tenants and partner agencies
Good organisational and administrative skills with the ability to maintain accurate records
Ability to manage a varied caseload, prioritise work, and make informed decisions
Competent IT skills and experience using housing management systems
