Job description
We are currently working in partnership with a Housing Association based in Scarborough, who are recruiting for a Housing Officer on a three-month temporary to permanent contract. The position is due to start immediately. The hourly rate of pay is negotiable up to £24 via an Umbrella company.
The ideal candidate will have a basic DBS certificate, or be happy to have one carried out, drive and have access to their own vehicle, and have proven experience of Housing Officer duties.
Duties will include (but are not limited to:
Manage all aspects of tenancy management, including tenancy agreements, rent accounts, and addressing breaches in line with policy
Carry out property sign-ups, ensuring new tenants fully understand their tenancy obligations and are supported through the move-in process
Assess and refer individuals at risk of homelessness to relevant local authority services and partner agencies
Oversee a portfolio of 9 supported housing properties, ensuring they are safe, compliant, and well-maintained
Work in partnership with external support providers, signposting tenants to appropriate services without directly delivering support
Conduct regular property inspections, reporting repairs and health & safety concerns promptly
Act as the main point of contact for tenants, resolving issues efficiently and maintaining positive, professional relationships
Experience required:
Experience working with customers within Social Housing

Strong communication (verbal and written)
Customer service and interpersonal skills
Conflict resolution and negotiation
Problem-solving and decision-making
Working hours:
22 hours per week
Monday, Wednesday, Friday, 9am-5pm
