Job description

We are currently working with a local authority who are looking for a Housing Officer on a 6-week temporary contract to be based in Northamptonshire.

The role is a full-time position, and will be based from home, office and across the patch. Please note, most of the role will involve patch working and candidates must be prepared to go into the office every day if necessary. The weekly hours will be 37 hours, between Monday to Friday and the rate of pay will be £25.00 per hour via an umbrella company.

Our client is looking for candidates with experience working within social housing and have their own vehicle with a full UK Driving License.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Developing and delivering a high standard of housing management to specific neighbourhoods to ensure that services are provided in accordance with performance targets and service standards

  • Establishing good working relations with tenants, leaseholders, residents and applicants so they have appropriate opportunity to influence the way in which their neighbourhoods are managed

  • Responding appropriately to tenancy breaches and anti-social behaviour, utilising all early intervention opportunities in accordance with current policy and procedure

  • Taking an active role in the development, implementation and management of estate action plans, local estate or block agreements or any new participation / development initiatives

  • Taking on-site reports and repair requests as necessary and liaise with technical staff

  • Attending evictions, with appropriate officers, taking inventories of goods if necessary and arranging for those goods to be placed in storage, in line with current procedure

  • Carrying out pre-void property inspection visits and providing advice when tenants advise us they intend to leave our homes while trying to reduce turnaround times

  • Carrying out accompanied viewings of all properties and give pre-tenancy advice and reviews to applicants

  • Establishing regular monthly estate inspections
