Health & Safety Compliance Manager

Our client, based in Buckinghamshire, is currently recruiting for a Health & Safety Compliance Manager on a permanent contract. The position is due to start immediately on a full time basis. The salary is £50,000 – £58,000 per annum, dependent upon experience.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years’ experience in the sector, however this requirement can be flexible.

Duties will include (but not limited to):

  • Develop and manage a comprehensive compliance programme ensuring that all statutory duties are met and that the programme is fully auditable
  • Ensure any areas of non-compliance are promptly addressed with the relevant manager and action is taken to address the failings
  • To assist line managers in implementing Health and Safety systems and procedures to meet specific requirements, for example, accident reporting
  • Manage a regular cycle of Fire Safety Risk Assessments and work with managers to ensure that corrective action is audited and followed up as necessary
  • To maintain a high standard of customer care and to contribute towards the development of a culture of customer service excellence
  • To oversee a regular cycle of audits which evaluate the effectiveness of Health and Safety policies, systems and procedures, and identify and implement improvements in conjunction with managers

 

Experience and qualifications required:

  • Educated to Chartered Membership of IOSH with NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent
  • Operational experience in Occupational Health & Safety and proven track record in the delivery of Health and Safety systems and the provision of advice within a Social Housing environment
  • Minimum five years’ experience within the sector
  • Full UK driving license

Skills, knowledge and expertise required:

  • Financial awareness and experience of budgetary management
  • Good knowledge of I.T. applications to include Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Aptitude for ‘hands-on’ involvement

Working hours:

  • 37 hours per week
  • Monday – Friday
