Head of Repairs

Our client, based in Somerset, is currently recruiting for a Head of Repairs on a temporary contract for nine months, with a potential to become permanent at the end (If this is something you and the hiring manager are interested in). Our client is a Local Council that provide quality housing and services to its communities.

The position is due to start immediately on a full time basis. The rate will be based on experience, however they are looking to pay circa £375 per day via an Umbrella Company

Initially they would like someone to have a strong office presence, however as the contract goes on there would be more leeway for home working

Duties will include (but not limited to):

• Oversee a full repairs department for a local authority, and having a strong input in the strategic and operational aspect of the team
• Implement a new IT system across the repairs department to create a more efficient service
• Review the scheduling team and their process, and recruit for new members of staff if required, as well as review their existing IT systems
• Review supply chains for materials and reduce costs where possible
• Oversee contractors where required and review SLAs

Experience required:

• You must have a strong background in repairs and a strong management background to be considered for this role

Working hours:

• 37 hours a week, roughly 9:00 – 17:00, however there can be flexibility on this
