Our client, one of the largest social housing and care providers in the country, is recruiting for a permanent Head of Legal Services, to be based in one of their offices in the Midlands or South West.

The position is due to start immediately and offers a salary in the region of £62,400 - £78,000.

The ideal candidate will have 7 years PQE, and in-house experience within a regulated environment.

Duties will include (but not limited to):

• Leading the development of a high quality legal service in line with regulatory requirements, and overseeing the delivery of legal advice in relation to property, housing management, disrepairs, general commercial and data protection

• Managing own caseload of complex matters and overseeing all requests for advice coming into the team, ensuring timely and accurate responses

• Overseeing the Group’s legislation register and tracker, keeping senior management updated on any changes, and ensuring compliance with all laws and regulations

• Accountable for signing off all legal documents in an efficient manner, ensuring that the Group’s standing orders and rules are adhered to

• Producing guidance, communications and training material on a variety of legal matters

• Handling the recruitment, performance management and development of quality staff

• Ensuring the delivery of legal services in a cost effective way, limiting risk to the Group, and setting/overseeing financial and performance targets

Working hours:

• 37 hours per week

• Monday - Friday
