Our client – based in Surrey– are currently recruiting for Head of Finance to join their central finance function on permanent basis. The role is 37.00 hours per week, and the hiring manager is offering a generous hybrid working pattern.
Start date: Dependent on notice period
Salary: £50,000 - £55,000
Duties will include (but not limited to):
Managing a team of 2 (One Accounts Receivable and Purchase Ledger Clerk)
Assisting in the preparation and providing an overview of the monthly income and expenditure accounts for consolidation into an institution-wide report available for the SLT
Providing monthly analysis of key variances identified within each School/Business Support income and expenditure, and active involvement in any resulting action plans
This will require an excellent understanding of multiple processes spanning different Schools and Business Support functions, as well as coordinating and prioritising workload across their team
Providing periodic re-forecasts for School and Business Support units and staff costs
Preparing the annual staffing complement budget
Developing a process regular updating of the staffing complement budget
Preparing capital appraisals in relation to projects within the organisations capital plan
Maintaining budget changes in Sage 200, ensuring appropriate documentation is retained
Experience required:
Fully qualified Accountant (CIMA/ACCA/FCCA)
Our client will consider applications from a Finalist – but they will need proven experience
Background working in the Education or Higher Education is strongly desirable
Staff management – this role will manage one AP and one AR Officer

Monday – Friday 9:00am - 5:30pm
Hybrid working: Two days at home and three days on site per week, no set days
