Gas Engineer

Our client, based in Oxfordshire, is currently recruiting for a Gas Engineer on a temporary contract for two – three months.  The position is due to start immediately on a full time basis. The hourly rate is negotiable based on experience for this position.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two years’ experience in the sector, however this requirement can be flexible.

Duties will include:

• Undertaking a range of planned and maintenance repair works including producing gas safety certificates
• To repair, replace and maintain gas installations within domestic properties, this will include work to fixed gas installations, fires, heating and hot water systems, warm air units, cookers etc. to a high standard
• Undertaking a range of routine and planned domestic maintenance repairs including plumbing
• To work in occupied and unoccupied properties unsupervised
• To ensure that safe and proper usage of all mechanical, non-mechanical plant and equipment under their direct control
• Completing all work issued to a satisfactory standard and in accordance with the latest Gas Safety Regulations
• Work and supporting other members of the Group Heating Team to ensure that the quality and performance targets for the team are met

 Qualifications required:

• City & Guilds, NVQ level 3 or similar
• ACS including CCN1 CEN1 WAT1
• HTR1 CKR1 CPA1
• UVHW
• Gas Safe Registered
• OFTEC Registration
• HETAS Registration
• Up to date with industry regulations and requirements
• Experience with fault finding on modern condensing boilers
• 5 GCSE’s at grade C or above or equivalent

Skills, knowledge and expertise required:

• Complying with the Code of Conduct
• Ability to plan, prioritise and manage own workload to achieve deadlines
• Ability to effectively use hand-held electronic devices
• Respect for safety and cleanliness of the workplace
• Respect for, and ability to communicate with tenants and maintain good relations
• Able to work as part of a team, flexible attitude to work and willing to work with apprentices
• Substantial experience in Gas servicing, landlord safety certification, repairs, maintenance and installation works
• Be able to diagnose faults and rectify in a prompt and appropriate manner
• To ensure the safe and proper use of all mechanical and non-mechanical plant and equipment under their direct control
• Be able to set out jobs from drawings and specifications and requisition the necessary installations materials

Working hours:

• 37 hours per week
• Monday – Friday 09:00AM – 16:30PM
