Job description

Our client, based in Zone 2 is currently recruiting for a Finance Officer – Rent & Service Charge, on asix-week temporary to permanent basis. Our client is a rapidly developing and award-winning Housing Association with a portfolio of 3,000properties.

 

The position is due to start immediately on a full-time basis. The salary for this role ranges between £28,888 - £29,888 per annum, with an hourly rate equivalent for the temporary duration of the contract.

 

The ideal candidate will have at least six months’ experience working within Social Housing and must have dealt with both rent and service charges.

 

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Supporting the Senior Rent Officer with the processing and posting rent receipts for 3000 properties onto the system

  • Setting up tenancies on excel and the housing management system and responsible for high volume data entry and administration as required

  • Downloading bank statements, and reconciling to the rent accounts

  • Dealing with queries resolution and processing housing benefits, cheques, cash, social service payment, refunds & compensation

  • Being responsible for standing orders & Allpay allocations

  • Suspense accounting – investigating unallocated funds, and liaising with department heads and cross-referencing statements

  • Closing and opening rent periods, and supporting with month end rent account reconciliation reports

 

Experience required:

  • Minimum two years’ experience within the Social Housing sector

  • Experience working with rents and service charges

  • Intermediate Excel skills

Working hours:

  • 35 hours per week

  • Monday – Friday, 9am-5pm

  • Two days working from home – can be flexible with the days
