Finance Officer – Income

Our client, based in Central London, is currently recruiting for a Finance Officer – Income on a temporary contract for three months with a view to go permanent. Our client is proud to be the UK’s leading youth charity, providing support for over 14,000 people a year.

The position is due to start as soon as possible on a full time basis. The hourly rate is negotiable dependent on experience for this position.

The ideal candidate will have experience using SUN accounting software and experience of accounts receivable and credit control.

Duties will include (but not limited to):

• Responsible for the recording, posting and banking of all income received from various sources including grants, fundraising activities, CAF vouchers and cash
• Liaise with the Fundraising Department on reconciling the income in the finance and fundraising databases, and ensure income is correctly coded by activity and by fund
• Lead on credit control and debt collection for all income including supported housing grants, social services payments, skills and employability contracts and appropriate fundraising income
• Raise sales invoices and/or credit notes and process on SUN, and review aged debtors report each month, taking prompt necessary action
• Assist with bank reconciliations for all bank accounts, and investigate and resolve any discrepancies on a timely basis
• Produce periodical reports on performance e.g. rent arrears and voids reports, debtors’ reports, and others as required
• Work effectively with staff across services & relevant third parties (e.g. Local authorities) ensuring a very high level of third-party satisfaction

Experience and skills required:

• Accounts receivable and credit control
• SUN accounting software
• Experience working in a busy finance department
• Minimum A level or an accountancy qualification such as AAT
• Not-for-Profit sector
