Job description

Our client, based in South West London, is a Social Housing provider also offering management services to numerous Housing Associations across Greater London and the Thames Valley. They are looking to bring on an interim Finance Business Partner for a period of initially four months.

The position is due to start immediately offering hybrid working (three days on site every fortnight) and is offering a competitive day rate.

The ideal candidate will be a qualified Finance Business Partner with a background in Social Housing, and have experience of preparing monthly management accounts and business partnering.

Duties will include (but not limited to):

  • Producing monthly management accounts for 30 clients, preparing annual budgets and forecasts for clients

  • Facilitating the setting of rents and service charges for new developments and annual rent and service charge reviews

  • Maximising income through ensuring accurate and transparent charging of service charges complying with current legislation

  • Uploading budgets and writing up management accounts commentary

  • Meeting with stakeholders, on a regular basis to discuss budget variances

  • Responsible for the fixed assets register including creating a system of controls, procedures and forms for the recording of fixed assets and including calculation and posting depreciation journals

  • In charge of preparing statutory annual accounts for clients and liaising with external auditors providing information and explanations as requested to audit accounts

  • Preparing year end group accounts including submission to external auditors, working papers, reconciliations and notes to the senior management team

  • Ensured corporation tax liabilities were paid on time and filed tax returns before deadlines

  • Managed the treasury function including the monitoring of 40+ bank accounts, accruals, prepayments, and cash flow forecasting

Experience and skills required:

  • Qualified Accountant or qualified by experience

  • Background working in Social Housing

  • Understanding of preparing monthly management accounts

  • Experience of using housing and finance systems (Omni desirable)

  • Ability to organise own workload and meet challenging deadlines, often in the face of competing priorities, with minimal supervision

  • 37 hours, Monday – Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm

  • 3 days in the office every fortnight – including Tuesday and Wednesday
