Job description

We are currently working with a local authority who are looking for an Estates Surveyor on a 3-month temporary contract. The role is a full-time position, and is due to start as soon as possible.

Our client is looking for candidates with proven surveying experience working within a local authority and have their own vehicle with a full UK Driving License.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Assisting with the day-to-day estates management of the Council’s corporate property portfolio including but not limited to rent reviews, lease renewals, licences, rent calculations for commercial lettings, lease assignments and other general estate management services as directed

  • Completing delegated authority forms and recommendation reports in line with the Councils instructions for approval by management

  • Assisting with the annual asset valuation programme by gathering and supplying information for valuers, site visits, photos measurements and other valuation related work to support the team in the work programme

  • Carrying out tenant liaison including site inspections, taking photos and measurements as necessary

Experience required:

  • Proven surveying experience within a local authority

  • Knowledge of property management, delivering property and related projects

  • Proven experience of producing specification, commissioning specialist services, supervising, monitoring, inspecting, approving, work and projects

  • Proven ability to work to tight deadlines and manage own workload

  • Evidence of good negotiation and advocacy skills

Working hours:

  • 37.5 hours per week

  • Monday - Friday
