Environmental Health Officer – Food Safety

Our client, based in Dorset, is currently recruiting for an Environmental Health Officer on a temporary contract for six months.

The position is due to start immediately on a full time basis. The hourly rate is negotiable based on experience for this position. The role involves home working but candidates must be willing and able to travel to Dorset.

The ideal candidate will have up to date food competency as per the FSA Code of Practice.

Duties will include (but not limited to):

  • Providing inspections of food premises as directed by the FSA code of practice
  • Rating risk as per the FAS code and administering the National Food Hygiene Rating Scheme
  • Dealing with business enquiries around the application of the relevant COVID regulations
  • Investigating complaints of non-compliance
  • Carrying out formal and informal enforcement actions as required
  • Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships, representing the service in a professional capacity

 

Experience required:

  • Experience as an Environmental Health Officer
  • Knowledge and understanding of FSA code of practice
  • Ideal/desirable: COVID regulation knowledge

Working hours:

  • 37 per week
  • Working from home
