Job description

We are currently working in partnership with a Housing Association based in Buckinghamshire, who are recruiting for an Electrician (Testing & Inspection) on a four-month temporary contract. The position is due to start immediately. The hourly rate of pay is negotiable.

The ideal candidate must have experience within testing and inspection on domestic social housing properties, hold a full UK Driving License as well as a 2391 and 18th Edition.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Completing domestic EiCR’s (Electrical Installation Condition Reports) across tenanted properties

  • Carrying out testing and then completing the EiCR's

  • Carrying out predominantly remedial works at the time of testing to ensure that issues can be resolved and can issue a satisfactory certificate

  • Covering all aspects of electrical works associated with the repairs, installations and maintenance of domestic properties when required

  • Ensuring work is completed to a high standard

  • Carrying out electrical upgrades, rewires, installations of fuse boards and associated work as instructed, in line with all current regulations

  • Identifying any electrical faults or defects and report them via the personal digital assistant (PDA)

  • Using a hand-held PDA for all jobs issued, kept accurate and timely records of works using the appropriate NHF 6.3 schedule of rates codes, while also accurately recording material allocation and usage, ensuring the closing of completed jobs

  • Completing detailed and accurate risk assessments before completing any works, ensuring compliance with corporate health and safety policies

Experience required:

  • Experience working with customers within housing

  • Experience working with domestic social housing properties

Skills, knowledge and expertise required:

  • Risk assessment and management

  • Compliance and due diligence

  • 2391 required

  • 18th Edition required

Working hours:

  • 37 hours per week

  • Monday – Friday, 9am-5pm
