Job description

Our client, based in the West Midlands, is currently recruiting for a Deputy Housing Manager on a permanent basis.

It is full-time role working 40 hours per week and has an annual salary of £28,829.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with ex-offenders, be willing to have an Enhanced DBS carried out and also have access to their own vehicle.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Assisting in the management of the referral process in order to achieve the agreed occupancy and target levels

  • Working with the police and probation services along with the Local Authority’s housing departments in order to ensure that prospective clients meet all of the service’s statutory criteria

  • Assisting in feeding back to both applicants and referrals upon the selection and de-selection of applications for accommodation

  • Leading in risk assessment and the management of potential risks to the public, staff and others in relation to the referral and letting of properties

  • Supervising and helping support the development of staff as directed by your line manager

  • Overseeing in the recruitment, training and supervision of the team

  • Allocating tasks to staff in order to achieve the key performance indicators of the project

Experience required:

  • Effectively managing and developing a team of staff

  • Monitoring performance by conducting appraisals and recording KPI’s

Skills, knowledge and expertise required:

  • Knowledge of the referral system and the lettings process

  • Strong communication skills to ensure the service runs efficiently

Working hours:

  • 40 hours per week

  • Monday – Friday, 9:00am - 5:00pm

  • Occasional on-call work (on a rota basis)
