Debt Recovery Lawyer

Our Local Authority client is currently recruiting for a Debt Recovery Lawyer on a locum contract basis for three months initially. The ideal candidate will be a strong advocate and have experience of civil litigation.

The position is due to start in July, and the hourly rate is negotiable based on experience for this position.

Duties will include (but not limited to):

• Advising on and handling own caseload, in particular in relation to civil litigation, debt recovery and enforcement across all Directorates of the Council
• Recovering Adult Social care debt including residential and non-residential care fees
• Expertise in debt recovery practice acting for the Council as a Creditor in complex probate cases or where the debtor lacks mental capacity
• Enforcing Section 106 Town & Country Planning Act 1990 agreements by way of Statutory Injunctions
• Undertaking enforcement proceedings against Judgement Debtors

Working hours:

• 35 hours per week
• Monday – Friday
