Damp & Mould Maintenance Surveyor

Our client, based in Kent, is currently recruiting for a Damp & Mould Maintenance Surveyor on a temporary contract for three months. Our client is a notable Housing Association, offering high quality services as well as secure homes by reinvesting back to the surrounding community.

The position is due to start immediately on a full time basis. The hourly rate is negotiable based on experience for this position.

The ideal candidate will have demonstrable experience of working in reactive maintenance and hold a full UKs driver’s license.

Duties will include (but not limited to):

  • Dealing with legal disrepair and or Fitness for Human Habituation claims from beginning to end and covering all aspects of the claim
  • Working with residents to resolve the underlying causes of damp, mould and condensation – providing education, support and training
  • Ensuring that all void properties meet the minimum lettable standard, coordinating improvement works as required and working with other departments to ensure that void repair are achieved to a required standard
  • Supporting and monitoring contractor’s delivery of responsive repairs, voids, and aids and adaptations.
  • Liaising with contractors to agree works, raise orders, and carrying out pre/post work inspections
  • Specifying, overseeing, managing and/or instructing any planned maintenance works or contractors, as required

 

Experience and Knowledge required:

  • Vast experience of working in social housing maintenance, diagnosing & ordering reactive repairs
  • Demonstrable knowledge of building and housing regulations and legislation
  • Knowledge of landlords‘ statutory repair, maintenance and health & safey responsbilties
