Job description
We are currently working in partnership with a Local Authority based in Hampshire, who are recruiting for a Damp, Mould and Disrepair Case Officer on a permanent basis. The salary on offer is £32,597 to £36,363 per annum dependent on experience.
The ideal candidate will be someone with housing repairs experience ideally in relation to damp and mould case management, who is a good communicator and with the required administration experience and with the commitment and drive to see damp and mould cases through to completion.
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
Provide advice and practical guidance to customers around heating and ventilation in the home to reduce the effects of condensation and mould
Attend reported cases of damp, mould, and condensation in tenants' homes
Carry out visual inspections to identify causes such as leaks, poor ventilation and other associated causes
Identify and report those properties that require detailed technical investigations or disrepair cases, with more complex solution requirements
Monitor works while they are being carried out to ensure success against expectations of customers end to end
Record inspection findings, completed works, and property conditions using handheld devices or reporting systems
Experience required:
Experience of working in Social Housing sector or high-profile customer focused organisation
Experience in property maintenance, damp treatment, and repairs knowledge
Experience of working in stressful environments and diffusing, mediating and diffusing conflict taking account of the situation and the needs of the individual/s concerned
Skills, knowledge and expertise required:
Excellent communication
Able to manage difficult conversations and conflict effectively
Customer focused
Ability to build trust and rapport with customers to achieve positive outcomes
Good time management and decision-making skills to work proactively and independently to plan and manage workload
