Job description

We are currently working in partnership with a Local Authority based in Devon, who are recruiting for a Fire Compliance Officer on a 3 Month Temporarycontract offering 3 days Working from Home!

The position is due to start immediately on a full-time hybrid basis. The pay rate for this job is £25-£40 per hour depending on experience.

The ideal candidate will be a confident communicator and have had previous experience of working in the public sector, ideally in fire compliance, housing compliance or property administration. Additionally, having pre-existing knowledge and exposure to Fire Risk Assessments and relevant compliance systems is advantageous.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Updating compliance systems following FRA outcomes and recommendations

  • Raising work orders for remedial actions and tracking progress through to completion

  • Coordinating with contractors and internal teams to ensure works are delivered on time

  • Maintaining accurate compliance records and documentation

  • Supporting fire safety programmes and ensuring all actions meet regulatory requirements

  • Monitoring outstanding actions and ensuring risks are prioritised appropriately

Experience required:

  • Experience of post Fire Risk Assessment tracking and raising work orders for remedial works

  • Experience of completing administrative duties accurately (preferably working within Property)

  • Experience of coordinating with internal teams and relevant specialists

  • Experience of tracking and recording progress within a relevant compliance-based field

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise required:

  • A strong core understanding of the compliance/regulations associated with Fire Safety Environments

  • A strong core understanding of post Fire Safety work across the Social Housing sector

  • Ability to accurately raise work orders for remedial actions

  • Ability to successfully liaise with internal teams and relevant specialists in regard to communicating complex information

Working hours:

  • 37.5 hours per week

  • Monday - Friday, 9am-5pm (3 Days WFH Included)
