Job description
Our client, based in Buckinghamshire, is currently recruiting for a Clerk of Works on a 12-month temporary contract.
The position is due to start immediately on a part-time basis for 2.5 days per week. The rate is £300 per day via an umbrella company.
The ideal candidate will have experience of working within social housing and also have access to their own vehicle.
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
Collaborating closely with tenants and any stakeholders on site to a seamless and heightened customer experience
Working directly with the Contracts Team to deliver Capital Investment Programmes across domestic properties
Conducting mid-work and post-work inspections within properties (with occasional pre-work visits as required)
Assessing the standard and quality of work during and after works, recommending remedial action where required
Ensuring contractors and operatives work safely, in line with regulations, policies and procedures, tidily, and conduct works as per specifications
Checking contractor payment claims, quantities and quality against actual onsite works
Identifying defects within properties
Reporting findings and any shortfallings to Contract Management
Utilising the NHF schedule of rates as required
Experience required:
Previous experience of working within Social Housing or Local Government in a Clerk of Works capacity
A background of working on capital investment and planned works projects
Ability to conduct thorough pre-, mid- and post-work inspections within domestic properties
An effective communicator at all levels, you will be able to work pro-actively and independently to deliver a high level of service
Working hours:
2.5 days per week
Monday – Friday (flexible choice of days)
Hybrid working – on-site and home working
