Job description

We are currently working in partnership with a Construction Consultancy company voted ‘Outstanding Company to Work For’ on projects in West London, who is currently recruiting for a Clerk of Works on a permanent contract. The position is due to start immediately on a full-time basis, with the salary ranging from £55,000-£60,000.

The ideal candidate would desirably hold a ICWCI membership although this is not an essential requirement.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Working on new build projects for social housing providers, local government organisations and schools

  • Overseeing rip and fit out contracts which include full retro-fitting

  • Liaising with building contractors and preparing reports for contract administrators / project managers

  • Undertaking regular inspections of construction work to monitor progress

  • Verifying compliance with contractual drawings, specifications, warranty standards and employer’s requirements

  • Identifying discrepancies, preparing written reports with supporting photographs and organising snagging

  • Attending end of defects inspections with the client in attendance

Experience required:

  • ICWCI or CIOB membership is desired

Skills, knowledge and expertise required:

  • New build construction experience within a residential setting

  • On-site diligence
