Job description

We are delighted to be representing an award-winning multi-disciplinary surveying firm, who are looking to appoint a new Clerk of Works on a permanent basis. The schemes will be based along the South Coast of England.

This will be a full-time position, with a hybrid working model and a salary of between £45,000 - £50,000 dependent upon experience.

The client is looking for a candidate that is LICWCI / MICWCI or working towards ICWCI at a minimum.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Undertaking inspections of new build residential building works to monitor progress, verifying compliance with contractual drawings, warranty standards and Employer’s Requirements

  • Managing and overseeing schemes with 50-60 unit low-rise blocks and houses

  • Producing detailed reports with supporting photographs for Employer’s Agents and Project Management

  • Ensuring works on site are carried out in compliance with all required construction standards such as specifications, warranty standards, plans and contract documents

  • Identifying discrepencies and defects before attending end of defect and snagging inspections with the client in attendance

  • Liaise with surveyor managers, client’s representative and building contractors to resolve any queries and issues

Experience required:

  • Passive fire safety and re-cladding projects

  • New build low rise developments

  • Using a tablet based digital inspection software

Skills, knowledge and expertise required:

  • Current building regulations and warranty provider standards

  • Thorough in reporting processes
