Job description

We are working in partnership with a prestigious charity based in London, who is currently recruiting for an Assistant Accountant to join their fast-growing team.

The position is due to start immediately on a full-time basis, offering a salary of £34,000 per annum.

Hybrid working is offered including two days working from home, however the successful candidate will be expected to be on site full time for the first couple months.

Duties will include (but not limited to):

  • Reporting directly into the Financial Reporting Manager to assist with the production of the monthly management accounts
  • Carrying out monthly bank reconciliations and clearing a backlog of balance sheet reconciliations
  • Assisting with cash flow forecasting and ensuring that all income is posted accurately and in accordance with deadlines
  • Recording the accruals and prepayments, and dealing with month end reporting up to trial balance
  • Assisting with the preparation for the submission of VAT returns in line with set deadlines
  • Experience required:

  • At least three years’ experience working in an accounting role
  • Multi-sector experience including working within the Not-for-Profit sector
  • Able to communicate effectively with Senior Management
  • Experience of preparing journals and month end reconciliations

  • Working hours:

  • 37.5 hours per week
  • Monday - Friday 9am-5pm (can offer flexible working hours)
  • Two days working from home but must be on-site every day for first two months of training
