Job description

Our client who is a leading provider of maintenance and property investment to housing co-operatives, based in Liverpool, is currently recruiting for a Building Surveyor on a permanent contract.

The position is due to start immediately on a full-time basis. The salary is £36,961 per annum with a further £1,258 car allowance.

The ideal candidate will have experience in a committee environment and hold a HND in Building Surveying. The candidate will also hold a full UK driving license.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Reporting to the Property Services manager and ensuring the effective delivery of maintenance and investment services, including reactive repairs, pre and post inspections, voids management, stock condition surveys, cyclical and planned and contract administration
  • Liaising and collaborating with contractors to produce tender documentation and specifications
  • Advising and assisting the senior management team on property investment legislation, regulation and policy
  • Working collaboratively with the finance team to set budgets and deliver planned investments and cyclical programmes
  • Assisting team with measured surveys, production drawings, specifications, submitting applications and further building surveying disciplines
  • Co-ordinating, investigating and responding to formal complaints regarding reactive repairs and investment services

Experience required:

  • Delivery of property maintenance and investment services
  • Managing building projects from inception to completion
  • Conducting property inspection

Skills, knowledge and expertise required:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of construction-related health and safety legislation
  • Building legislation, regulation and good practice
  • Effective financial controls and probity checks

Working hours:

  • 37.5 hours per week
  • Monday - Friday
  • 9am-5pm
