Assistant Accountant

Our client, a public sector body based in Warwick, is currently recruiting for an Assistant Accountant on an initial three-month temporary contract.

The position is due to start immediately on a full time basis and the rate is negotiable dependent on experience

Duties will include (but not limited to):

• Ensuring financial and non-financial information is supplied to a range of Service Areas in accordance with agreed timetables
• Preparing detailed fees, charges and estimates reports under direction of Principal Accountant
• Maintaining integrity and accuracy of accounts information provided
• Preparing estimates and accounting for a range of budget heads that don’t follow departmental lines
• Maintaining the integrity of the general ledger
• Handling large quantities of financial data and compiling within Excel spreadsheets
• Ensuring budgets, descriptions and codes are up to date and that accounts are reconciled and cleared when appropriate
• Preparing monthly financial statements for managers

Experience required:

• Strong communication skills
• Confident answering queries from stakeholders of all levels

Working hours:

• 37 hours per week
• Monday – Friday 9am-5pm
• Home working- only one day per month in the office
