Our client, based in Essex, is currently recruiting for an Asset Maintenance Surveyor on a permanent contract. Our client is proud to be considered one of the largest Social Housing providers in the Country.
The position is due to start immediately on a full time basis. The salary is set at £35,075, but rises to £36,921 after 12 months in post.
The ideal candidate will have experience operating within the Social Housing sector.
Duties will include (but not limited to):
Working collaboratively with contractors and colleagues to ensure the delivery of high-quality repairs and maintenance services and contributing to the delivery of the Asset Management Operating Plan
Providing assistance and advice to customers to assist in maintaining their homes
Managing large planned works projects – essentially as Contract Administrator – monitoring budgets as well as supervising works and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation as required
Working alongside 6 other surveyors delivering planned replacements works to around 24,000 properties around the Southend, Colchester and Chelmsford areas
Acting as project lead on at least one work stream/geographic area and providing local support for the rest of the team at all times
Operating as a Maintenance Surveyor within the Social Housing sector
Successful track record of delivering building surveying services and managing substantial work programs
Skills, knowledge and expertise required:
Excellent level of knowledge of building construction standards and legislation
An ability to diagnose and specify remedies to building defects
Understanding of responsive repairs, voids works, planned and cyclical requirements
Contract management and budget management skills
