Molly Humphreys | Recruitment Consultant | Leicester Office

What does a typical work day look like for you?

  • My day usually starts with checking emails, reviewing priorities and joining our morning jobs meeting to discuss live roles and plans for the day. I then focus on speaking with candidates, arranging interviews, sending CVs and filling vacancies. Throughout the day, I’ll also spend time business developing, building client relationships and marketing candidates. After catching up with placed candidates, reviewing progress with the team and planning next steps, I’ll finish by updating LinkedIn and following up with any final conversations before heading home.

Why did you choose this over university?

I wanted to start building my career straight away rather than going just because it felt like the next step. Recruitment came into my life at the perfect time, and it's one of the best decisions I've made

What do you enjoy most about your job?

  • The best part of recruitment for me is the people. I enjoy matching the right candidates with the right opportunities, but I also like building genuine relationships. It's nice knowing candidates trust me enough to call if they need advice, want to celebrate a new job, or just need someone to listen.

What's some advice you'd give to future consultants?

  • My advice for anyone starting in recruitment is build relationships, not just placements. People remember how you made them feel, and the candidates and clients you help today could come back to you years later.

University vs Recruitment Trainee

There isn't one route to success.

University is a fantastic option for many people, but it isn't the only way to build a successful career.

Some people prefer gaining practical experience, earning from day one and developing professionally in a commercial environment.
