Neighbourhood Officer (Crawley & Horsham)

Our client, based in Kent and London, is currently recruiting for a permanent Neighbourhood Officer (covering Crawley and Horsham). Our client is a large Housing Association owning and managing over 20,000 homes in the South East of England covering counties such as Essex, Kent, Sussex and South East London.

The position is due to start immediately on a full time basis. The salary for this position is paying up to £39,990 including London weighting and annual car allowance.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years’ experience in the sector, however this requirement can be flexible.

Duties will include (but not limited to):

  • Manage 1000 properties around Crawley and Horsham providing tenancy management services to ensure all tenants adhere to agreements
  • Handle enquiries relating to leasehold properties
  • Carry out new tenant visits, mutual exchanges, sign ups and termination of tenancies
  • Conduct regular estate inspections to identify and rectify any health and safety or environmental issues, and deal with follow up actions in a timely manner
  • Manage low-level ASB issues including noise nuisance, neighbourhood disputes and fly-tipping, interviewing witnesses and offering mediation services
  • Ensure all recording systems are updated and maintained on an accurate and timely basis, and that all service requests are responded to within the prescribed timescales
  • Responsible for raising repairs and liaising with tenants and contractors alike, in order to follow through on works

Experience required:

  • Minimum five years’ housing experience within the sector

Working hours:

  • 35 hours per week
  • Monday – Friday 9am-5pm

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Car is essential for this role
  • A DBS is desirable but the client will take one out for successful candidates
