Team Building in Birmingham

As James Andrews grows as an organisation, we constantly review our policies and benefits for staff to ensure that all their hard work being rewarded.  In 2018 we have added to the benefits package available to employees – those who have been with us for a year or more will be eligible for free gym membership with Pure Gym, which are located conveniently near each office.

We have always encouraged our employees to achieve and maintain a healthy lifestyle through physical fitness but also to form close bonds and friendships with the people you work with outside of the office.

Along with spotting each other in the gym here are eight team building activities in and around Birmingham city centre we highly recommend checking out before starting with us

Escape Live Birmingham – Definitely for those who love a puzzle and a challenge. This exciting activity is a 30 second walk away from our Birmingham office.  If you haven’t done this before it’s definitely worth the money. Working in a team of between two and six people, you will have just 60 minutes to escape from a locked room before it is too late. With the clock ticking, there is no time to argue. Everyone must work together to find the clues and solve the puzzles so you all make your way out in time.

Digbeth Dining Club – This one is for the foodies. No joining fee required however, I’d fully recommend buying a larger pair of trousers. Every week there is something different, whether you have a sweet tooth or crave bespoke burgers or exotic foods DDG has got you covered. Theres also live music and retro gaming available in the accompanying bar so make sure you check this gem out fast.

Rock Climbing – Birmingham Bouldering Centre is based extremely close to the office and is a great opportunity for you to test your mettle and go up against your new colleagues. With 7000sqft of climbing surface spread across 2 rooms, a huge range of angles and offers something for everybody regardless of experience or ability.

Live Comedy – Excellent idea for a group activity and even better for a date with someone special. Most of the comedy venues in the city centre provide food and drink so it’s basically an all in one package. Make sure you check out the websites for Jongleurs, Glee Club and The Comedy Loft (all based in the City Centre) as there’s a chance you will get to see one of your favourite comedians from television or radio.

Yoga – This is definitely one of the best ways to loosen up after a long, hard week in the office. The studios close to or office can even host hot yoga sessions for those really looking to feel the burn. Whether you’re a ballerina or builder, a musician or marathon runner this is a fantastic way to strengthen the mind and body.

Trampoline Park – A huge room full of trampolines, what more do we need to say?! There are several in and around the city so you’re spoilt for choice. Some even offer the chance to play Dodge ball, Free Jump Area, Battle Beam, Slam Dunk Courts and a Giant Airbag and a high jump area.

Birmingham Museum – For the culture vultures and history buffs, Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery has over 40 galleries to explore that display art, applied art, social history, archaeology and ethnography. The art gallery is famous for its Pre-Raphaelite paintings, which are part of the largest public Pre-Raphaelite collection in the world. Exhibitions from across the world and even ones a little close to home (the Staffordshire Hoard) are all on display for you to experience when you fancy a walk round. Did we mention it’s free?

Ghetto Golf – A new addition to Birmingham. It’s mini golf with a twist. Offers a combination of a seriously twisted 18 hole mini golf experience, with an exceptional cocktail bar and DJ’s in the Custard Factory. Graffiti and incredible artwork everywhere makes them a must do experience in the Birmingham.
