Job description

We are proud to be partnering with an established housing association who provide sustainable homes and communities with excellent customer service. They are looking to appoint a Multi-Trade Operative on a 3-month temporary to permanent contract.

This will be a full-time position based in Kent, with company van and fuel card included. The hourly rate is up to £25 via umbrella, and salary of £34,900 plus further benefits.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years’ multi-trade experience carrying out repairs and replacement works in both occupied and unoccupied properties.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Undertaking maintenance work on site and ensuring works are completed to highest standards, complying with Customer Service Code of Conduct

  • Working on various occupied and void properties carrying out remedial works, rectifying faults and maintaining excellent standard of work

  • Liaising with customers when carrying out works, while ensuring properties are left in a clean and safe manner

  • Supervising apprentices, educating them on company standards where neccessary

  • Assessing, planning and requesting the parts and materials required to carry out works and managing stock where neccessary

Experience required:

  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in the building maintenance industry

  • Working from verbal/written instruction including diagrams and sketches

Skills, knowledge and expertise required:

  • Using measuring equipment where appropriate

  • Knowledge of Noise at Work regulations, CAR 2012 regulations, Health and Safety Standards

  • Ability to train apprentices

Working hours:

  • 8 hours a day

  • 40 hours a week

  • Mon – Fri (out of hours & overtime available)

  • May be required to participate in emergency service involving working outside normal hours and when required on rota
