Job description

We are currently working in partnership with a local authority based in Oxfordshire, who are looking to appoint a Contracts & Procurement Lawyer on an initial 3-month temporary contract basis.

The position is due to start immediately on a full-time basis, and can offer fully remote working. The hourly rate on offer is negotiable subject to level of PQE.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience within Contracts & Procurement Law, and will have specific experience within the Local Government setting.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Handling a range of complex contracts and agreements on behalf of the Council, ensuring sound legal advice is provided on significant projects
  • Advising on procurement matters, commercial contracts and subsidy control, and drafting high value contracts
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, regulation and policies, whilst providing advice on public procurement regulations and tendering processes
  • Liaising with internal stakeholders and third-party clients in respect of contractual obligations
  • Negotiating and drafting all types of commercial legal agreements including possible procurement and high-level, complex contact matters

Experience required:

  • Contracts & Procurement Law
  • Local Authority experience

Working hours:

  • 37 hours per week
  • Monday – Friday
